Firefox's ScrapBook Extension
The
ScrapBook
extention for Firefox makes the browser a well-rounded research tool. Save, group, annotate (with sticky notes, highlights, and comments), even modify saved
pages and browse them with ScrapBook's sidebar. It also features a simple text/HTML editor (which I'm using to write this article) and the saved files are also browseable, which makes ScrapBook particularly geek-friendly.
With ScrapBook, you can clear your bookmarks or
del.icio.us posts of any pages you've saved simply to capture a few bits of information. (I know I'm not the only one who's saved a webpage and forgotten why.) The same with any directories full of textfiles whose
context is lost behind their filenames. This app will streamline the activities of anyone who uses Firefox for anything more than just surfing.
